I redesigned The Big Issue Taiwan's (TBI) website to attract new visitors and potential clients, filling the gap of their previously absent online presence. The redesign aimed to elevate TBI’s mission of empowering the homeless and socially disadvantaged by providing a modern platform that enhances visibility and engagement.
Overview
The Big Issue Taiwan (TBI) provides opportunities for the homeless and socially disadvantaged to earn an income by selling magazines, with the mission to "help those who help themselves." Adapted from a successful 20-year UK model, TBI aims to replicate this success as a social enterprise in Taiwan, empowering individuals to regain confidence, dignity, and control over their lives.
Since TBI Taiwan currently lacks an official website, I redesigned it to attract new visitors and potential clients.
Problems
However, The Big Issue Taiwan currently has no official website and only publishes magazines and other news via ‘Medium’. According to research, brands that do not have an official website are less likely to consolidate their corporate image and lose potential customers.
I have identified three problems with The Big Issue Taiwan’s sole reliance on Medium.
Failure to express a professional image: The format of pictures and text is subject to certain regulations, making it difficult to establish a unique brand identity in general.
Incomplete information and rapid loss of information: When using other social media platforms to run your brand, information is lost more quickly; it is more disorganised and not easily stored. This makes it difficult for consumers to find information when they look for it.
SEO issues: When using other social media platforms to run your brand, it is more difficult for users to search for information about your brand via Google, making it easier to lose potential consumers.

Project Goals
To address these issues, I have set up The Big Issue Taiwan’s own website, which I hope will achieve the following goals:
Increase exposure and SEO effectiveness: Over time, an official website will build up SEO scores and increase marketing effectiveness.
Consolidate information: An official website can consolidate all information and organise it into different categories so that consumers can easily receive information. The content can also be made available to potential consumers and become valuable information for long-term retention.
Create a brand image: An official website has more credibility than other media, so having an official website will increase trust in your company.
In summary, this website will not only help The Big Issue Taiwan to get their inspiring content out to readers but also make more people aware of the existence of street sellers, so that they can use the magazine to rebuild their confidence and dignity, and in turn, take back control of their lives.

Colour & Typography
The Big Issue Taiwan provides a fun, quality and inspiring magazine for the Foolish generation. As it is a communicator to the public, I chose to use black and white as the brand colours to convey 'stability', 'introspection' and 'trust'. This is also in line with the magazine's core spirit of 'Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish'.
Furthermore, The Big Issue Taiwan magazine is sold to the public through the homeless and socially disadvantaged groups. Therefore, I chose the colour red as the emphasis colour, hoping to convey the spirit of love and charity of The Big Issue Taiwan.

I have chosen two different fonts for the title and the text. The 'Hind Vadodara' font is more substantial and has a sense of stability, making it a suitable font for the title. On the other hand, 'Carme' is a lighter font, which makes the text less stilted and allows the reader to read it in a pleasant and relaxed manner.

Landing Page Interface
The Big Issue magazine covers current affairs, social issues and art and literature. In particular, the magazine is available to the Homeless and socially disadvantaged groups. In addition to providing job opportunities, it also provides a fun, quality and inspiring magazine for the Foolish Generation.
